Our First Real Touristy Day

On Saturday, we had a three-hour coach tour around London where they showed us all of the major tourist sights. Our tour guide, Ross, was really funny and entertaining...he definitely kept us listening to him even when we all just wanted to sleep on the comfy bus. No, the tour was really cool - it was our first look at a lot of places that we want to go back to. We saw Harrods for the first time (For Jan!), Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral and so much more. We went all around Central London. We did get to stop and go out near Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral, but other than that all of the pictures you see are taken from the bus.

Later that night we all went out to a couple of different pubs. One was pretty original and we met a few Australians and British people who all play footie (soccer.) We then went to a club called Piano, but none of us ever saw a piano in the place - a little weird, huh?

I just think this first picture is incredibly London. It is Big Ben through the rain on the bus' window. I have pictures of Big Ben without rain, but this just epitomizes a London tourist day.

This is really only a picture of the pink limousine. It is really uncommon to even see a limousine in London - there are hardly any places for them to park and gas is really expensive - around $8 a gallon.

Oh those guards. The color of the plumes on their hats mean that they are private guards. (I think.)

Hello Westminster Abbey. I am definitely going to go back here and explore more!

Buckingham Palace! This is the only time of the year it is open (until sometime in early October) so we are hoping to get tickets and take the tour of the inside.

St. Paul's Cathedral - where Princess Diana was married. There was a wedding party just coming out when we got there, too. So many tourists were taking pictures of the newlyweds.
I really love the Tower Bridge. It could be my favorite thing yet.The London Eye! Each of the capsules can hold about 25 people.
