Bath!

Welcome To:

Bath is a town known for its natural hot springs, which is why the kings and queens and wealthy people of the 17th century went there for both entertainment and to bathe. The water has 41 natural vitamins and nutrients, so it was said to be able to cure all illnesses, another draw for people. The town is so amazing and has stayed very historical looking because in order to build, people must use stone.

When we first got there, we had about an hour and a half to eat and wander around, so a group of us went to a place called "Pig and a Fiddle" to have some burgers/nachos/onion rings and then wandered in and out of a couple of shops for awhile.

We then met up with a tour guide and split off into groups, each with their own guide. Ours was this absolutely wonderful woman named Sue. She was adorable, very fashionable and so lovely. I asked her where the best place to get ice cream was in Bath. Well we ended the tour right next to an ice cream shoppe and she said "Not this place." Then she pointed us in the direction of this amazing Italian ice cream shoppe that had the best ice cream I have had in a really long time.

After the walking tour, we were admitted into the Roman Baths and did a self-guided audio tour there. It was amazing. The history of the town and the amount of work people put into keeping up these areas is truly incredible.

I wasn't supposed to do this. Oops. But I did touch the bath, and it was warm from the hot springs. Then I washed my hands because apparently, someone got meningitis from bathing in this.The outside of the Roman Baths. Notice all of the stone in all of the pictures?

The natural hot spring water is still transported using the same ditches and tunnels that were first built hundreds of years ago.

The Royal Crescent. These are all houses built connected, and they are incredibly expensive. One of these cost 3 million pounds, about $5.4 million, and they don't even have parking!The Abbey in Bath is so majestic.

We had a little entertainment before our walking tours! These perfomers were amazing, dancing and singing and really engaging the crowd.

Hello Bath countryside. Near the large tree in the middle there is a dock-type area. That is meant for ducks to be able to go up, so they don't get hurt by the gushing water. We watched one go up it and fondly named him Charlie. He made it safe and sound. :D
